Charlotte Home Guide

The shopping around Charlotte has matured tremendously and continues to grow daily.  Charlotte has a multitude of various shopping Malls, strip malls and Outlet Malls within a short drive in addition to a huge variety of uniques stores throughout the region.  This page will naturally not provide everything Charlotte has to offer, but you will have an ample taste.  The shops at Stonecrest in Ballantyne, located on Rea Road at I-48, and Phillips Place, on Fairview Road near SorthPark Mall, provide a great deal of upscale shopping that comes with the vibrant growth we have experienced here in Charlotte. 

Concord Mills Mall is the best!  An ideal Charlotte mall is the Concord Mills Mall I-85 North at exit 49.  This Mall not only has a huge movie theater, it has a bowling alley, and a NASCAR store with an indoor and an Outdoor NASCAR Go cart track in the mall!  This mall is less than a mile from Lowes Motor Speedway, so racing is in the air.  Included in the mall are hundreds of the best names in retail including Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store, Nike Factory Store, Osh Kosh B’Gosh Outlet, Zales the Diamond Store Outlet, and Off 5th Saks 5th Avenue Outlet.  Pro Bass Superstore is located adjacent to the mall.

Northlake Mall, was recently built to fill a retail void in North Mecklenburg County.  Located off I-77 at exit 18 Northlake just south of Huntersville near the intersection. Anchored by Belk, Dillard’s, Hecht’s and a 14-screen cinema megaplex, the mall includes more than 150 specialty stores. 

Another shopping, retail, and dining mecca is Birkdale Village in Huntersville (exit 25 on I-77).  Birkdale Village began in 2002, an urban village of shops, luxury apartments, offices and restaurants where residents don’t need to drive to get what they need.  Birkdale Village, which offers 320 one- to three-bedroom apartments located above the retail shops, provides a clubhouse, pool and an Arnold Palmer golf course just across the street that is hailed as one of the finest courses in the state. In addition to its shops, which include Barnes & Noble, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic and Williams-Sonoma, Birkdale has a 16-screen movie theater, a greenway and interactive water fountains popular with kids on warm summer days.

The SouthPark Mall in South Charlotte has undergone an enormous renovation and now offer the finest and most complete shopping and dining experience in the Southeast.  More stores, more festivities, more reasons to celebrate!  As the Carolina's premier shopping destination, SouthPark offers an experience like no other.  SouthPark is home to Nordstrom,  Neiman Marcus, Crate & Barrel, as well as, numerous other exclusive stores.  SouthPark also offers premier dining like Morton's, McCormick & Schmick, Cheesecake Factory, Mangiano's, and scores of other restaurants within a mile of the mall.

The Blacklion in Charlotte is a store that every woman must see at least once.  This store is set up in a similar fashion to a flea market but with high quality specialty items that you can not find anywhere else.  The unique variety of items here is beyond compare!  If you are particular about your home decor, you will fall in love with the Blacklion.  There is a store located in Pineville NC, on in Concord Mills Mall and one in Huntersville NC.

Carolina Place Mall in Pineville is just off I-485 at Highway 51, a.k.a., Pineville-Matthews Road, and just a short drive from the prestigious Ballantyne area!  This mall is nothing but class.  The mall can actually be seen just south of I-485 as you pass the Pineville exit.  The mall has a majestic appeal.  During daylight hours, the transparent ceilings permit the sunshine to warm the air.  At nightfall, the ceilings radiate magnificence into the evening sky.  The mall is surrounded by a variety of restaurants, furniture stores and specialty shops.

Let's not forget the great neighborhood shopping centers like Park Road Shopping Center, Cotwold Shopping Center, The Arboretum, and many more dotting  Charlotte's retail lanscape.
